The 3rd edition of the Workshop on Communication Networks and Power Systems (WCNPS) in Brasília included technical presentations, keynote talks and short courses in the areas of communication networks, power systems, and vehicular technologies.
The technical presentations consisted of 21 peer-reviewed papers and 14 invited keynote speakers, and came from 8 different countries (US, Italy, Spain, Poland, Brazil, France, Australia, and Germany). The WCNPS counted on two short courses on electromagnetism.
The local organization was undertaken by the University of Brasília, in particular the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Institutes of Technology at Plano Piloto and Gama. Additionally, WCNPS was also organized by the Post-Graduate Programs on Electrical Engineering, both the academic and the professional programs (PPGEE and PPEE), and the Post-Graduate program on Mechatronic Systems (PPMEC).
The 3rd WCNPS was technically sponsored by the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society and local IEEE chapters of the Communication Society, Vehicular Technology Society, Power and Energy Society, and the IEEE Young Professionals Section of Brazil Center and North. Financially the event was completely funded by the Agency for Research Support of the Federal District (FAPDF). More than 180 participants attended the conference.
The technical presentations are available in our YouTube channel, and presented papers are published in IEEE Xplore. WCNPS is an annual event and the fourth edition is scheduled for October 2019 in Brasilia in Brazil.
