Lingyang Song received his BS from Jilin University, China, in 2002, and PhD from the University of York, UK, in 2007, where he received the K. M. Stott Prize for excellent research. He worked as a research fellow at the University of Oslo, Norway until rejoining Philips Research UK in March 2008. In May 2009, he joined the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, Peking University, and is now a Boya Distinguished Professor. He is the co-author of a number of best paper awards, including IEEE ComSoc Leonard G. Abraham Prize in 2016, IEEE Communications Society Heinrich Hertz Award in 2021, IEEE Communication Society Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award in 2021, IEEE ICC in 2014, IEEE ICC in 2015, IEEE Globecom in 2014. He has served as a Distinguished Lecturer of IEEE Communications Society, an Area Editor of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Communications, and the Vice Director of IEEE Communications Society Asia Pacific Board. He is a Fellow of IEEE, and a Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher in 2018.
