Xiaosong Hu (Fellow, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in Automotive Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, in 2012. Between 2010 and 2012, he completed his scientific research and Ph.D. dissertation with the Automotive Research Center, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. He is currently a Professor with the College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Chongqing University, Chongqing, China. His research interests include modeling and control of alternative powertrains and energy storage systems. Dr. Hu was the recipient of numerous prestigious awards/honors, including Web of Science Highly-Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics, SAE Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award, SAE/Timken-Howard Simpson Automotive Transmission and Driveline Innovation Award, IEEE ITSS Young Researcher Award, and SAE Ralph Teetor Educational Award. He is also an IET Fellow and an AAIA Fellow.
