Guangqiang Wu received his Ph. D. degree from Jilin University in July 1994, between August 1994 and August 1996 he was a postdoctor and associate professor at Harbin Institute of Technology, and from September 1996 to May 2000, he was an associate professor in Department of Automotive Engineering, and from June 2000 he has been a full professor, and from April 2002, the Founding Director of Institute for Automotive Science, Tongji University. From August 2009, he serves as a research professor at Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Japan, between January and February 2012, he was the visiting professor at Institute of Engineering and Computational Mechanics, University of Stuttgart, Germany, between July 2012 and September 2016, he was the visiting professor at Automotive Research Center, University of Michigan, USA, Between July and September 2017, he was the visiting professor at Institute of the Institute for Mechatronic Systems in Mechanical Engineering at Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany. His main research focuses on Connected and Automated Vehicle & Ground (CAVG) systems, particularly in the areas of infrastructure perception, decision-making, planning, and control for intelligent connected vehicles. Dr. Wu has been honored with numerous academic awards, including those from SAE International and the Chinese Ministry of Education etc. He is a Fellow of SAE and ASME, Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Engineering.
