F. Richard Yu received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2003. His research interests include connected/autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and wireless systems. He has been named in the Clarivate Analytics list of ``Highly Cited Researchers" since 2019, and received several Best Paper Awards from some first-tier conferences. He is the Editor-in-Chief for IEEE VTS Mobile World newsletter. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), and IET.
