Fernando Ornelas-Tellez received the B.Sc. degree from the Instituto Tecnologico de Morelia (ITM), Mexico, in 2005 and the M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Advanced Studies and Research Center, National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV-IPN), Guadalajara, Mexico, in 2008 and 2011, respectively. Currently, since 2012 he is a researcher at the Michoacan University of Saint Nicholas of Hidalgo, Mexico. His research interest centers on dynamical system modeling, neural control, optimal control, passivity and their applications to robots, electrical machines, and power electronics. In 2021, he was elevated to IEEE senior member, and has collaborated as Treasurer of the IEEE Centro Occidente Section (COS) (2018-2021), elected Chair of the IEEE-COS (2022-2023) and Chair of the IEEE-COS VTS Chapter (2019-2021).
