Phone Lin is a Distinguished Professor at National Taiwan University, holding prestigious professorships in the Department of CSIE and Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia, College of EECS, and Institute of Medical Device and Imaging, College of Medicine. He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in January 2001. Dr. Lin’s extensive research focuses on various areas, including the design and analysis of mobile communications networking, M2M/IoT/IoC application design, and data-driven anomaly detection and prediction for M2M/IoT/IoC. He was elevated to an IEEE Fellow “for contributions to resource management and service development for mobile networks.” Dr. Lin serves on the editorial boards of several journals such as IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, and IEEE Internet of Things Journal. He has been the recipient of numerous prestigious research awards, including the Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan in 2016, the Distinguished Electrical Engineering Professor Award from the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering in 2012, the Junior Researcher Award from Academia Sinica in 2010, the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award from Taiwan in 2009, and the Best Young Researcher of IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Young Researcher Award in 2007. Moreover, Dr. Lin served as a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Communications Society for the term 2019-2020, further highlighting his expertise and prominence in the field.
