Phone Lin is a Distinguished Professor in National Taiwan University, holding professorship in the Department of CSIE and Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia, College of EECS, and Institute of Medical Device and Imaging, College of Medicine. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in January 2001. Dr. Lin’s current research interests include design and analysis for mobile communications networking, design for M2M/IoT/IoC applications, and data driven anomaly detection and prediction for M2M/IoT/IoC. He was elevated to an IEEE Fellow “for contributions to resource management and service development for mobile networks.” Currently, he serves on the editorial boards of several journals such as IEEE Trans. on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Wireless Communications Magazine, and IEEE Internet of Things Journal. Lin has received numerous research awards such as Outstanding Research Award, Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan in 2016, Distinguished Electrical Engineering Professor Award of the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering in 2012, Junior Researcher Award of Academia Sinica in 2010, Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award of Taiwan in 2009, and Best Young Researcher of IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Young Researcher Award in 2007. Dr. Lin was also a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Communications Society for 2019-2020.
