Francesco Verde received the Dr. Eng. degree summa cum laude in electronic engineering from the Second University of Napoli, Italy, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from the University of Napoli Federico II, in 2002. Since December 2002, he has been with the University of Napoli Federico II, Italy. He first served as an Assistant Professor of signal theory and mobile communications and, since December 2011, he has served as an Associate Professor of telecommunications with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. His research activities include reflected-power communications, orthogonal/non-orthogonal multiple-access techniques, wireless systems optimization, and physical-layer security. Prof. Verde has been involved in several technical program committees of major IEEE conferences in signal processing and wireless communications. He has served as Senior Area Editor of the IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING LETTERS since 2018. He was an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SIGNAL PROCESSING (from 2010 to 2014), IEEE SIGNAL PROCESSING LETTERS (from 2014 to 2018), and IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS (from 2017 to 2022), as well as Guest Editor of the EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing in 2010 and SENSORS MDPI in 2018-2022.
