I am an Emeritus Professor of the National University of Singapore (NUS), having served in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for forty one years. My research is mainly in communication theory and signal processing with applications to wireless and optical communications, focusing on receiver signal processing algorithms and performance analysis. I have served in the Executive Committee of the Singapore Chapter of the VTS since its inception, until my retirement from active service in NUS. I have served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the VTS and on its Fellow Evaluation Committee. At present, I am serving on its Awards Committee. Going forward, I would like to see how I can contribute more towards enhancing the applications of wireless and optical communications in areas of interest to VTS.
