Hideki Ochiai received the B.E. degree in communication engineering from Osaka University, Osaka, Japan, in 1996 and the M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in information and communication engineering from The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. From 1994 to 1995, he was with the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of California (UCLA), Los Angeles, under the scholarship of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. From 2001 to 2003, he was a Research Associate at The University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, Japan. From 2003 to 2024, he was with Yokohama National University, Yokohama, Japan, where he was a Professor since April 2015. Since April 2024, he is a Professor with Osaka University, Osaka, Japan. From 2003 to 2004, he was a Visiting Scientist at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, USA. From 2019 to 2020, he was a Visiting Professor at the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada, and a Visiting Fellow at Princeton University, NJ, USA. His research interests are in the areas of wireless communications and networks. He served as an Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications from 2007 to 2011 and for the IEEE Wireless Communications Letters from 2011 to 2016. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
