Alessandro Serpi graduated in Electrical Engineering in Dec. 2004 and got the Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering in Feb. 2009. Since Nov. 2021, he has been Associate Professor on Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Cagliari (Italy). His research activity concerns model predictive control of electrical drives and power electronic converters, as well as management and control strategies of energy storage systems for smart grids and electric propulsion systems. He has been involved in several research projects, also as Principal/Associated Investigator. He is co-author of more than 100 papers published on international conference proceedings and journals. He is a reviewer for several international conferences and journals. He is Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and he was recipient of a number of IEEE awards. Alessandro Serpi has been also proposing associate, co-founder, Sole Director and Chief Technology Officer of NEPSY srl, an academic spin-off company of the University of Cagliari, whose main activity is the development, production and marketing of novel highly-integrated electric propulsion and energy storage systems.
