Winners will be announced at the Fall meeting of the VTS Technical Committee on SAGW Integrated Communication Systems and the associated IEEE VTCXXXX-Fall Workshop/Session.
Basis for Judging
Quality, originality, and significance of the contributions of the candidate as evidenced by publications, patents, products, or other tangible items, leadership, contributions to the Society and the profession.
Eligibility
- Nominees must be an IEEE VTS member at the time of application.
- The nominee should be in good standing with the IEEE VTS Technical Committee on Space-Air-Ground-Water Integrated Communication Systems.
- The nominees prior technical accomplishments and future potential should earmark them as current and future leaders in the field of space-air-ground-water integrated communication and networks, as well as role models for future generations of researchers in the field.
- Previous award winners are not eligible.
- Eligibility and selection process shall comply with procedures and regulation established in IEEE and Society/Council governing documents, particularly with IEEE Policy 4.4 on Awards Limitations. Previous award winners are not eligible for substantially the same achievements (per IEEE Policies 4.4: An individual shall receive only one award for a given achievement, unless the significance merits a higher award, which may be given in the following year or thereafter.)
Nomination Details
- Open calls for nominations will be solicited via email notifications; IEEE Channels; IEEE vTools.
- The nomination (self-nominations allowed) should be submitted by email as a single pdf file to the secretary of the IEEE VTS Technical Committee on SAGW Integrated Communication Systems, with the subject being “IEEE VTS Technical Committee on SAGW Integrated Communication Systems Distinguished Achievement Recognition Award”. The nomination should include:
- Name, IEEE member number, and contact details of the nominee
- Name and contact details of the nominator if any
- Proposed citation (limit 10 words)
- An executive summary of the nominee contributions (not to exceed 3 pages)
- Two signed recommendation letters, but not from the nominator if any
- Nominations should comply with IEEE Policies and restrictions on awards. Incidents of misconduct including, but not limited to, violations of IEEE's publication policies, will be strongly considered by the awards committee and may be grounds for denial of an award or leadership position
