Bảo-Huy Nguyễn (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Université de Lille, France, and the Université de Sherbrooke, QC, Canada in 2019.
Since 2012, he has been with the Control Technique and Innovation Laboratory for Electric Vehicles (CTI Lab4EV), Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam. His research interests are in modeling, control, and energy management of electrified vehicles and modern power systems. As of 2026, he has published more than 50 papers in high-impact journals and international conferences and is the co-author of the paper received the IET Premium Awards 2022. He has also led and contributed to R&D and consultancy projects with organizations and industry such as the UNDP, World Bank, EVN (Vietnam Electricity), and ATS JSC. These collaborations have focused on practical and scalable solutions for energy transition in transportation and grid modernization.
Dr. Nguyễn has been actively involved in the activities of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS). He served as Technical Chair of the IEEE VTS Motor Vehicles Challenge 2021 “Energy Management of a Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive Electric Vehicle” and as Track and Session Chairs of IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conferences (VPPC) since 2019. He is currently a member of the Vehicle Power and Propulsion Technical Committee (VPP TechCom) and the Motor Vehicle Challenge (MVC) Committee. He has been serving as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine since 2026.
