Bogdan Groza is Professor at the Politehnica University of Timisoara (UPT), he received his Dipl.-Ing. and Ph.D. degrees from UPT in 2004 and 2008, respectively. In 2016, he obtained his habilitation, with a thesis focused on the design of cryptographic security solutions for automotive embedded devices and networks. He has been actively involved in the development of industry-supported laboratories at UPT, in collaboration with Continental Automotive and Vector Informatik. In addition to participating in numerous national and international research projects in information security, he led the CSEAMAN (2015–2017) and PRESENCE (2018–2020) projects, both dedicated to automotive security and funded by the Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation. He is also involved in the Romanian Hub for Artificial Intelligence at UPT (since 2025), where he leads a team focusing on intrusion detection in in-vehicle networks. He has served on the program committees of more than 50 international workshops and conferences in cybersecurity. His research interests include automotive cybersecurity, embedded systems security, and intrusion detection.
