Yasir Saleem is currently a Lecturer at Aberystwyth University, UK in the Department of Computer Science since January 2022. He was previously a Postdoctoral Researcher in FUN Team at INRIA Lille - Nord Europe, France from February 2020 to December 2021. He completed his Ph.D. from Institut Mines-Telecom, Telecom SudParis and Institut Polytechnique de Paris, France in January 2020, his Master (by research) degrees in Computer Science under a dual degree programme of Sunway University, Malaysia and Lancaster University, United Kingdom in 2015, and his undergraduate degree in Information Technology from National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2012. He was also a Research Assistant at Sunway University, Malaysia during his Master research and his placement was at MIMOS Berhad, Malaysia's national applied research and development centre under the Ministry of Science, Technology And Innovation for the duration of his Masters. He worked as a software developer at KNYSYS for about one year.

His research interests include Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), vehicular networks, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), wireless networks, Internet of things (IoT) and smart cities, and his research is mainly focused at the application and network layers using network simulations and software prototyping.
