Dr. Muhammad Imran Majid is a Technical Reviewer at OCI. He has worked as Associate Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at the Institute of Business Management (IoBM), where he administered a team of 7 professionals and oversaw 10 batches of students across BS Technology Management, BS Electrical Engineering, and MS Engineering Management programs for 9 years. He is a Chartered Engineer and Senior Member of IEEE.
He is active in the wireless communications and networking research community. He served as Principal Investigator for a project on Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and has contributed to the implementation of SDN in engineering education. He has completed advanced training in Generative AI and Google AI Basic Specialization, bringing cutting-edge AI expertise to wireless communication systems. He serves as a reviewer for IEEE Access.
Dr. Majid is a Commonwealth PhD Scholar (2006-2010), Commonwealth Academic Fellow (2017), and served as a Commonwealth Alumni Advisory Council member (2021-2023). He received his PhD in Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK, and MSc in Space Engineering from Umeå University, Sweden.
His current research interests include AI-driven resource allocation in wireless networks, energy efficiency optimization in communication systems, software-defined networking, machine learning for network management, and intelligent wireless communication systems.
