Salama Ikki (Senior Member, IEEE) is a Professor and Research Chair in Wireless Communications in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lakehead University, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Prior to joining Lakehead University, he held academic and research positions at several institutions, including the University of Waterloo and INRS–University of Quebec.
Dr. Ikki is the author of more than 100 journal and conference publications and has received over 8,000 citations, with an H-index of 41. His research group has made notable contributions to the development and analysis of 4G and 5G wireless technologies. His current research interests include massive MIMO, cell-free massive MIMO, visible light communications, wireless sensor networks, and emerging intelligent communication systems.
He has served as an Associate Editor and reviewer for leading IEEE journals and conferences and has been actively involved in the wireless communications research community. Dr. Ikki is the recipient of several awards recognizing excellence in research, teaching, and professional service.
