Tai Fei (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Eng. degree in telecommunication engineering from Shanghai Maritime University in 2005, and the Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees in electrical engineering from Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany, in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He was a Research Associate at Hochschule Bremen and the University of Bremen, where he worked on sonar imagery and underwater mine detection. From 2014 to 2023, he was a Development Engineer at HELLA GmbH & Co. KGaA, focusing on signal processing algorithms for automotive radar. He is currently an interim Professor of Computer Vision and Robotics at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Dr. Fei has authored over 50 scientific papers and holds more than 40 patents, including 10 granted. He received the 2024 Outstanding Associate Editor Award from IEEE Access and coauthored the Best Paper at the German Microwave Conference 2024. He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Sensors Journal and previously served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access. He is the Lead Guest Editor of the EURASIP JASP 2025 collection on automotive radar. He co-chaired special sessions at the IEEE Radar Conference 2023 and IEEE SAM 2024, chaired “Radar Sensing for Autonomous Vehicles” at EUSIPCO 2025, and will organize the accepted special session “Radar and Multi-modal Sensing for Perception and Localization in Intelligent Systems” at EUSIPCO 2026.
