Description

Energy Management of a Range Extender Electric Vehicle

The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières, the Argonne National Laboratory, the FCLAB Research Federation, the FEMTO-ST Institute, the University of Lille and the MEGEVH are proud to launch the 2nd annual IEEE VTS Motor Vehicles Challenge 2018 .

Challenge Objective:

The objective of this challenge is to minimize the operating costs of a hybrid vehicle. In this way, the fuel consumption and the battery recharging cost will be taken into account to achieve an efficient energy management.

The challenge focuses on the energy management of an Extender Electric Vehicle Extender (RE-EV). Both Academic and Professional teams are welcome to participate in this challenge.

The aim of this challenge is to develop a robust Energy Management Strategy to reduce the fuel (gasoline) consumption and to optimize the battery usage according to several rules. In this way, a simulation program will be provided by the US Department of Energy and the Argonne National Laboratory.

IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC) is the 2018 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC).
