Integrating sensing and communication (ISAC) represents a pivotal advancement distinguishing 6G from 5G, addressing critical challenges such as spectrum scarcity and hardware costs while enhancing energy and cost efficiency. While full cooperation between sensing and communication promises substantial performance gains, realizing these benefits demands efficient joint designs—unified waveforms and beamformers optimized for both functions. This talk investigates AI-powered ISAC designs to maximize integration gains, focusing on unified waveform, constellation, and beamforming strategies that harmonize sensing and communication performance. Beyond practical design trade-offs, we explore AI-driven channel learning/generation techniques and establish foundational theoretical frameworks for end-to-end ISAC systems. By bridging algorithmic innovation with real-world constraints, our work aims to propel ISAC from theoretical promise to deployable solutions in next-generation networks.
