Copyright Policy

It is the policy of the IEEE to own the copyright to the technical contributions it publishes. To comply with IEEE copyright policy, authors are required to sign an IEEE Copyright Transfer Form before publication in either the print or electronic manuscript. The form is provided upon approval of the manuscript. Authors must submit a signed copy of this form with their approved manuscript.

IEEE has recently completed development of a new Electronic Copyright Form (eCF).  The goal of the form is to reduce the number of paper copyrights submitted to IEEE.  Additional goals for eCF are to increase the accuracy of the data entered on the copyright and to have the copyright submitted in a timelier manner.

Once the Author successfully answers a series of eCF questions, they will simply have to enter their name electronically and submit the form.  A copy of the completed copyright will be made available to the Author in PDF format.  The forms and metadata will be saved in a database used specifically for the eCF tool.
