Nan Yang received his Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, China, in 2011. Since July 2014, he has been with the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia, where he is currently a Professor and the Lead of the Information and Signal Processing Cluster in the School of Engineering. His research interests span communications theory and signal processing, with a focus on terahertz communications, ultra-reliable and low-latency communications, cyber-physical security, intelligent signal processing, next-generation multiple access, and molecular communications. He received the IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2014 and earned the Best Paper Awards at IEEE ICC 2024, IEEE Globecom 2022, IEEE Globecom 2016, IEEE VTC Spring 2013, and from the IEEE ComSoc Signal Processing and Computing for Communications Technical Committee in 2024. He served as an IEEE ComSoc Distinguished Lecturer (2023-2024) and has been serving on the editorial board of the IEEE Transactions on Molecular, Biological, and Multi-Scale Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, and IEEE Communications Letters. He has also been a Guest Editor of over ten special issues in prestigious international journals and a Symposium/Track/Tutorial Chair at IEEE flagship conferences.
