Mojtaba Vaezi (Senior Member, IEEE) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University, USA. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University, Canada, and his B.S. and M.S. from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran. From 2015-2018, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Princeton University. Dr. Vaezi’s research focuses on 6G wireless systems, AI-native radio access networks (RAN), and integrated sensing and communications (ISAC), bridging signal processing, machine learning, and information theory. Among his publication in these areas is the book Multiple Access Techniques for 5G Wireless Networks and Beyond. Dr. Vaezi has served in editorial roles for several IEEE journals, including as an Editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications, a Senior Editor for IEEE Communications Letters, a Senior Area Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and an Associate Editor for IEEE Communications Magazine. His contributions to research and leadership have been recognized with numerous awards, among them the McGill Engineering Doctoral Award, the IEEE Larry K. Wilson Regional Student Activities Award (2013), and the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship (2014). Further honors include the Ministry of Science and ICT of Korea’s Best Paper Award (2017), the IEEE Communications Letters Exemplary Editor Award (2018), the prestigious IEEE Communications Society Fred W. Ellersick Prize (2020), the IEEE Delaware Valley Engineer of the Year Award (2021), and the NSF CAREER Award (2023).
