Hai Wang (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Swinburne University of Technology (SUT), Australia, in 2014. From 2014 to 2015, he was a e Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology, at SUT. From 2015 to 2019, he served as a Full Professor with the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering, Hefei University of Technology, China.

Dr. Wang is currently an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of Advanced Robotics, Control and Artificial Intelligence (ARCAI) Research Laboratory at Murdoch University, Perth, Australia. His research focuses on nonlinear systems and control, intelligent control, robotics and mechatronics, autonomous systems & vehicles, artificial intelligence, Industry 4.0 and smart agriculture.

Dr Wang has made significant contributions to academia through nationally and internationally collaborative, industry-focused, and translational research. He has secured competitive research funding with a total external research income exceeding AUD 10 million, including projects funded by the Australian Research Council, AEA Ignite, GRDC, CSIRO and industry partners. He has authored over 180 refereed journal papers, including more than 60 IEEE Transactions papers, over 150 Q1 journal papers and 10 ESI Highly Cited Papers.

Dr. Wang currently serves as an IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Distinguished Lecturer (2026-2028) and Chair of the IEEE VTS Western Australia Chapter. He is also an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computing, Robotica, etc. He has played active leadership roles in numerous international conferences, serving as the General Chair of IEEE ICPS-2026, ARCAI-2026, 2025 and 2024, the Finance Chair of IEEE INDIN-2022, SGES-2020, ICPES-2019, etc. He won the 2023 Murdoch University Vice Chancellor’s Excellence Award in Research.
