Description

The IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT) is a scholarly journal dedicated solely to vehicular technology.

The TVT has been an important venue for both academia and industry to share research results to accelerate R&D activities in vehicular technology. In 2024, the journal has received 2,960,827 downloads in the IEEE Xplore usage, ranking 9th among all IEEE journals. Its impact factor has been increasing steadily between 2004 and 2023, as shown in the following table:

Year 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014
2-year impact factor 1.490 1.921 2.063 2.642 1.978
Year 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019
2-year impact factor 2.243 4.066 4.432 5.339 5.379
Year 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024
2-year impact factor 5.978 5.978 6.239 6.800 6.1

TVT strives to be on the vanguard of vehicular technology research and, as such, encourages submissions focused on emerging and promising fields that will interest its readers. To better serve the community, the journal has been publishing special sections, focusing on vehicular electronics and intelligent transportation systems, and some topics which are of interest to the mobile communications and networking community.

Publishing Policies

This publication considers original works that enhance the existing body of knowledge. Original review articles and surveys are acceptable, even if new data/concepts are not presented. Results described in the article should not have been submitted or published elsewhere. Expanded versions of conference publications may be submitted. Articles must be intelligible and must be written in standard English.

Peer Review: Peer review is vital to the quality of published research. Each article submitted to IEEE is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers selected by a member of the publication's editorial board. Learn more about the IEEE peer review process.

Publication Fees: This publication is supported by subscriptions and applicable Article Processing Charges (APCs). If you choose to exceed the page limit of 10 complimentary pages, a charge of USD $220 per page will be applied, and you will receive an invoice before article publication.

Although there is no cost for publishing with IEEE, authors may wish to take advantage of some of our fee-based offerings; visit the IEEE Author Center for more information on available options.

Open Access Article Processing Charges (APCs): USD $2495 for articles submitted in 2024. USD $2645 for articles submitted in 2025.
